These gorillas are based on the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. I had never drawn gorillas before attempting this, so I spent a bit of time getting familiar with what they look like before even attempting to design them. I also tried my best to match the visual style of the movie, which has a fascinating blend of 3D and 2D, similar to, and no doubt inspired by, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
